Home/About Us
We own the yards, grade the steel, and sign the delivery note
Coast 2 Coast Containers Ltd is a dealer, not a broker. Every unit we sell has been through one of our depots, graded against a written standard, and photographed before it goes on a truck.
Built by people who unloaded the boxes first
The business started with four used 20ft units on a leased half-acre and a single flatbed. What made it grow was not inventory, it was the discovery that most buyers had been sold a grade they did not get: a “cargo-worthy” box with a soft floor, a “watertight” unit that dripped by November.
So we wrote our grades down, published them, and refused stock that did not meet them. Today we hold over 400 units across regional depots, fabricate modifications in-house, and deliver to all 48 contiguous states — but the grading sheet is still the same document, and the person who prices your unit is the person who signs its inspection.
Who we work with
Logistics operators buying chassis and reefers by the fleet. Construction firms placing site offices and secure storage on live projects. Retailers and event teams building pop-ups that have to look good and lock tight. And a steady stream of homeowners, farms and self-builders who want an affordable storage container or the shell of a house, and who get the same inspection standard as a forty-unit order.
What we will not do
We do not list units we have not seen. We do not quote a freight number we expect to revise. We do not subcontract fabrication and hope the spec survives. If a unit is not right for the job you have described, we will tell you, even when the wrong unit is the more expensive one.
Across regional depots, from 10ft boxes to gooseneck trailers.
Carrier network covering the contiguous United States.
Containers, trailers, cabins, flat pack and accessories.
Measured across the last twelve months of deliveries.
Four commitments we can be held to
Not values on a wall. Each of these is checkable against your paperwork.
Published grades
One-trip, cargo-worthy, wind-and-watertight and as-is are defined in writing on our containers page. Your invoice names the grade.
Itemised freight
Unit, modification and haulage priced separately, quoted to your zip, valid 14 days. No depot handling fee appears later.
Photographed before dispatch
Doors, floor, seals, corner castings and any noted defect, sent to you before the unit is loaded.
In-house fabrication
Cutting, welding, insulation and electrics done by our own crews, so the approved drawing is the delivered unit.
From half an acre to coast-to-coast coverage
STEP 01
Four boxes, one flatbed
Opened with used 20ft stock on a leased yard, selling to local contractors and farms.
STEP 02
Written grading standard
Published condition definitions after too many customers arrived with the wrong expectations.
STEP 03
Fabrication brought in-house
First workshop opened. Site offices, workshops and sanitation units built to customer drawings.
STEP 04
Chassis and trailers added
Logistics customers asked for the wheels as well as the boxes, so we stocked them.
STEP 05
Nationwide freight network
Carrier partnerships across all 48 contiguous states, with crane placement where access is tight.
Coast to coast, and most places between
Freight is priced per mile from the nearest depot holding your unit, which is why a Pacific Northwest delivery and a Gulf Coast delivery rarely cost the same. Tell us the zip and we will quote the real number.
- Northeast & Mid-Atlantic — tilt-bed delivery, typically 3–5 business days.
- Southeast & Gulf — port-adjacent stock, strongest one-trip availability.
- Midwest & Plains — rail-served depots for 40ft and high cube units.
- Mountain & Southwest — crane placement standard on constrained sites.
- West Coast & Pacific Northwest — reefer and specialised stock held locally.
